The DC Chamber of Commerce’s annual golf tournament was a success. There were a total of 82 players this year, we also added a celebrity to this year’s tournament. We had Coach Sam Puryear, Howard University’s – Division 1 Golf Team, introduce his team, vision and mission as Howard’s newest coach. We added a Cigar Station (Petworth Cigars), silent auction and a cash raffle that was won by Linloy Cox. We had several winners on hole contests – and the the longest drive (women) was won by Morgan Taylor a freshman at Howard University and a member of the golf team. This year, a portion of the proceeds are to help fund the Margaret Singleton Memorial Scholarship Fund, to assist students that attend Howard University with educational awards.
