The DC Chamber is a clear and central voice on public policy issues affecting businesses in the District of Columbia. Our assiduous advocacy efforts support a pro-growth business climate, the development of a talented workforce and sustainable investments in infrastructure to meet the needs of businesses and citizens.

We promote the approval of business-friendly laws and regulations that encourage company growth and create and maintain a tax environment that draws companies and entrepreneurs to the District. We monitor the issues and get involved when the results could progressively—or adversely—affect the economy of the District.

Our efforts to foster a pro-business agenda focus on the DC government, both the Office of the Mayor, the DC City Council and DC agencies. We also advocate on behalf of DC businesses with the U.S. Congress.

Our advocacy work centers on:

• Pushing policy priorities that support the growth of local job creators.
• Developing ongoing policy reports and research to fosters the recruitment and retention of businesses.
• Safeguarding District-based employers.
• Promoting economic development.
