City and Country Introduction Webinar with Singapore
This webinar will feature remarks from the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, other members of the DMPED Team, and executives from Enterprise Singapore. It will also feature a Business Introduction session, where DC businesses will be paired with Singapore businesses and can begin conversations that will eventually lead to closing deals.
This event will be targeting Professional Services, IT/Cybersecurity and Fintech.
As a key partner of the District, Singapore has been chosen due to its strong interest in strengthening the trade relationship between the country and the city by way of business-to-business matchmaking opportunities, its large pattern of foreign direct investment into the US, and its interest of further expansion into DC. In 2019, Singapore contributed $60.1 billion in total FDI stock to the US. In 2018, US affiliates of majority Singaporean-owned firms employed 39,300 US workers and invested $475 million in innovative R&D. In the same year, exports by US affiliates of majority Singaporean-owned firms valued at $1.4 billion.
