In 2002, Carla Dickens switched careers from advertising to working in the insurance industry alongside her father, Edward Mouton, and mother, Adwoa Mouton. Mr. Mouton founded Mouton Insurance Brokerage, an independent insurance agency in Washington DC in 1996 with the primary goal of providing quality and affordable insurance for intercity residents, small businesses, and not-for-profit entities.
The DC Chamber of Commerce announced its 2023 Small Business Award recipients who were honored during its annual 2023 Small Business Summit on May 9th at the Washington Convention Center.

Celebrating its 45th year in business, Zenith Gallery and Zenith Community Arts Foundation is an art center bringing opportunity and creativity to their community in DC, as well as internationally. Margery Goldberg—artist, activist, and art curator—started the gallery in 1978 and the foundation in 2000.
Female and minority-owned construction company, Usource Construction, prides itself on a people-first, full-service, and collaborative business model. Shirley Boubert-Rumble pioneered this mission-oriented company with over 25 years of experience and has since created noteworthy opportunities in disadvantaged communities.
